Event Description:

"We shouldn't wait for some revolutionary ideas to pop into our heads.
Innovative ideas are all around us." Bill Gates

In 2013 , the TEDxABQ experience came to Popejoy Hall and something truly special happened. Over 2,000 people gathered for a showcase of New Mexico’s biggest ideas and most fascinating thinkers. Following TEDxABQ’s 2013 and 2014 events , New Mexicans have continued the conversations and put ideas into actions that are improving our community.

On September 12th, 2015, join us at Albuquerque’s Popejoy Hall for an exploration and celebration of New Mexico through the voices of people making their mark on our community . TEDxABQ 2015: On Your Mark will showcase 20 of New Mexico’s biggest ideas in science, healthcare, policy, technology, learning, the arts, and the way we see the world. The day will be filled with live talks, short videos, interesting people, stirring performances, and interactive experiences.

What is TED?

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design – three areas that are collectively shaping our future.
TED is an annual event where the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to share their passions.

What is TEDxABQ?

For six years running, TEDxABQ - the TED.com licensed conference has showcased New Mexico’s biggest ideas to sold-out audiences. Since our first event in 2009, response to our program has been overwhelming, and we have experienced exponential growth that is incredibly exciting.

This year, the event will highlight 20 remarkable homegrown ideas from New Mexico
’s most passionate scientists, artists, activists, educators, healthcare advocates, and community members . TEDxABQ is about celebrating what is great about New Mexico. Created in the spirit of TED’s mission, ideas worth spreading, TEDxABQ events are designed to give New Mexico’s communities, organizations, and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through locally organized TED -like experiences.

What is a Hero Ticket?

$100 buys 1 adult admission to TEDxABQ on Sept 12 and gives 2 young people the opportunity to attend TEDxYouth@ABQ on November 14. TEDx Youth will award the 2 tickets.
